The aim of the Cook School is to provide the highest level of professional tuition in a state-of-the-art and luxuriously equipped teaching environment. The intention behind the Masterclasses, practical cookery courses, food demonstrations and wine tastings is serious but combined with a warm and friendly welcome, encouraging participants to feel relaxed and able to make the most of their experience.

With only eight work stations and two Chef tutors per class plenty of individual attention is guaranteed. Participants learn how to select the finest local ingredients and the techniques of making each component taste amazing. They are taught to taste the food at every stage of the cooking process, and begin to think imaginatively about how individual flavours will complement one another in the final dish. That is how a professional chef thinks, and mastering this improvisational approach helps students improve their cooking in an instinctive and natural way.

Some classes are now fully booked six months in advance and the School’s reputation is quickly growing as Scotland’s premier Cook School experience.
